When an employee has worked 8 consecutive hours in each day he/she must take a 30-minute unpaid break. The 30-minute unpaid break is given to an employee for them to enjoy their meal without working. They must not under any circumstance work while they are their 30-minute break. The employer can choose to have employees off the work-site during the unpaid break.
Except, this break only applies to certain and specific industries such as the people who assemble plans, workshops, and mechanical establishments. This un-paid break does not apply to employees who do collective bargaining agreement or sets out arrangements.
Nebraska does not require the employee to take any other breaks aside from the 30-minute unpaid break if the employee qualifies for. Although, it is not required, Nebraska can choose to give their employees a 20 minute break that is paid under the federal law.
