Specific to Wyoming: If an employer treats an employee unfairly because of age, disability, sex, pregnancy, the Wyoming Fair Employment Practices Act can help the employee who is being treated unfairly. Sex discrimination involves treating someone disparagingly because of sex. Discrimination in sex can happen more in woman than it would in men because of pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions. The Wyoming Fair Employment Practices Act cessations the practice of employment discriminating sex and pregnancy (WY Stat. Sec. 27-9-105). The act must consider the number of employees in the work area: two or more employees, public employers, labor organizations, and employment agencies. Employers must respect pregnancy-related conditions equivalent to other types of temporary disabilities for all employment-related purposes, including leave and other benefits. Wyoming allows a woman to breastfeed in any place where the woman is legally authorized to do so.
